Christopher Corcoran provides portfolio management consulting services for TSGPR. Chris comes to our firm with more than 20 years in the banking industry directing risk mitigation, process improvements, leadership development and operation management for a wide range of financial services companies. Chris spent much of his career with Wells Fargo in a variety of positions and has worked extensively both in Canada and the United States, leading cross-functional teams specializing in commercial lending; mergers and acquisitions; direct and indirect auto financing; credit cards; procurement, supply chain and operations management. He is a graduate of Carleton University with a degree in Economics and a Canada Scholar in Science and Engineering.
Moises Ocasio is our Chief Operations and Technology Officer. Ocasio joins TSGPR executive team with over 20 years of experience in Private, Commercial and International banking. His areas of expertise vary from treasury, regulatory compliance, risk management, Q&A and information technology among others. As a COO he helps oversee the day-to-day business operations and is responsible for ensuring that the organization clients, risk and technology functions have the necessary connectivity, coordination and operating processes. Moises earned his BBA degree in Business Management from University of Phoenix, Puerto Rico campus.
Enid Concepcion brings a broad and varied set of skills to the role of Executive Director of our Firm; with more than 15 years of experience within a variety of business verticals including retail, production, marketing, financial services, business to business (B2B), bio science, real estate and non-profit industries. Enid has been using her management skills, creative vision and excellent insight into company management processes to enhance operations by working closely with all business-line personnel to design, develop and deliver strategy solutions, change management, business continuity and organizational design in diverse environments, she has consistently delivered great results and enabled the teams to achieve their business objectives. Enid earned her BBA degree in Business Management with sub-specialization in Marketing from UAGM in Puerto Rico; she holds certifications on Project Management, HR Management, Portfolio Management Office and Project Business Analyst. In her spare time, she enjoys giving back to the community by volunteering with an array of non-profit organizations.
Angel Torres is our Director of Capital Markets. He evaluates special situation investments in both, publicly trader securities and controlling private equity interests focused primarily on fintech and technology. Prior to that, he was the Chief Financial Officer of I2B Tech, an international digital transformation and venture studio based in Chile. During this time, he co-invested and helped raise millions of dollars for multiple high growth companies now commanding double digit valuations and now entering growth capital phases. Before that, he lived in Colombia, where he was an associate Corporate Finance professor at Pontifical University and also consulted for the head of PE investments at a top-3 pension plan as well as for smaller Middle market PE shops. Prior to relocating to LATAM, Angelo worked in Corporate Finance and Strategy for Deloitte Consulting and Oliver Wyman, spanning Tech, Telco & Healthcare. He started his career in mobile products R&D for Motorola’s Mobile division and rose through the ranks up to Senior Staff Engineer before leaving to pursue his business education. In 2011, he served on the performance audit committee of the Office of the Illinois State Treasurer and was subsequently invited to serve as an Illinois board member for Romney’s Republican Party presidential primary. Angelo received engineering degrees from the University of Florida (Tao Beta Pi Honor Society), an MBA in Private Equity and Finance from the Wharton School of Business (Mitchell Fellow full scholar) and a Master of Arts in Public Policy from the University of Chicago (Dean’s Scholar).
Camille Alvarez is our In-House Corporate Counsel and is responsible of all legal matters for our private equity firm. Prior joining our Firm, she focused her practice on corporate, securities and tax law transactions. Her areas of experience include startup of operations, private placements, M&A and tax incentives and qualified energy activities among others. Camille obtained her B.A., from New York University Stern School of Business then pursued JD at Inter American University of Puerto Rico and later earned an LL.M., New York University School of Law with admissions on Puerto Rico, New York and District of Columbia. Camille will bring to TSG team her vast experience while focusing primarily on M&A, structuring and offering of hedge funds, funds of funds, private equity funds, and a variety of other alternative investment products, among others.
Jorge is our International Tax Manager, he handles the different tax and business returns relevant to the Firm, ensuring its adherence to overall PR and US tax requirements, as well as complying with transfer pricing best practices and compliance obligations. His areas of expertise include tax research and writing, tax return preparation, tax incentives, business filings, and transfer pricing, among others. Jorge earned his BA degree in Accounting from the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras campus and is licensed as a PR Certified Public Accountant and earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Transfer Pricing from Middlesex University, London.
Luis has more than 20 years of experience of working in compliance and financial roles in different areas of the financial industry including securities, banking, trading, retail and oil & derivatives. Prior to joining The Strategic Group,he worked for a major International Broker Dealerfor over 10 years. He worked as a Financial Analyst, Compliance Officer (Series 7, Series 24), Administrative Principal (Series 7, Series 24) & as a S&E Manager (Series 7, Series 24). Prior to this he worked as Financial Advisor covering Securities and Insurance offerings. In his roles as Compliance Officer, he worked to develop and implement compliance and process management programs. As Principal, he worked in supervision of sales practices in compliance with FINRA (former NASD) regulation. Luis has built a broad diverse skillset beyond the compliance role including management, creating financial models, financial planning & project management. He currently holds a Series 3 and is an Attorney-Notary admitted to practice in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico. He has a BBA in accounting, an MBA in Finance and is a Juris Doctor.
Col. Schaefer is a retired U.S. Army Special Forces officer (Green Beret), diplomat, and senior international defense expert with over 28 years working with senior foreign defense and military officials. He earned a Masters Degree from Harvard University, and is also a Franklin Covey certified instructor for the 7 Habits Signature and Managers courses. His complete list of accolades, the level of discipline and tenacity that he brings to TSG, along with the quality of the material he creates for our stakeholders, is unparalleled by most. In 2015, Col. Robert Schaefer taught the first 7 Habits course that TSG participated in. Shortly after, he was invited to join the company on more of a permanent basis to serve as our dedicated Leadership Education and Development Coach. Since joining us, he has continued to teach more courses. Most recently, he developed, from the ground-up, a course specially designed to supplement the teachings found in the Principles book. In addition to instructing, he provides conflict resolution coaching by utilizing his own uniquely-created EMP+ technique, and delivers one-on-one guidance to stakeholders who need and desire to refine their work habits and leadership techniques.
